Paul Shoesmith, Director

Paul Shoesmith has a wide range of experience of working with schools, suppliers, local authorities and government departments covering all aspects of the use of ICT (Information and Communications Technology).

He is a Director of Paul Shoesmith Consulting Limited and was also a Director at IET Associates Limited between 2010 and 2018. He previously held leadership positions at Becta, the UK government agency for technology in education, and at Birmingham Education Service, where he built and managed the Birmingham Grid for Learning, one of the largest educational networks for schools in the UK, connecting over 450 schools and centres to the internet for the first time.

Paul Shoesmith Consulting Limited provides education and technology consultancy in the UK and overseas to a range of organisations operating at national, regional and local level.

As part of his portfolio of work Paul works with schools, academies and multi-academy trusts advising on ICT strategy, procurement, management information and finance systems and ICT infrastructure.

Between 2014 and 2017 he worked as part of a team advising a national education ICT project in the Gulf region, managing large scale OJEU compliant device, network services and software procurements, while also coordinating the work of NEN, the Education Network as their Professional Officer between 2013 and 2016.

Paul has been a governor at a primary academy in Worcester since 1999, where he is now Chair of the Black Pear Trust, comprising six Worcestershire primary schools, and is Vice Chair of Trustees at Nunnery Wood High School, where he has been involved since November 2013.
